The 40th Annual Texas Criminal Trial College is scheduled to take place at the Sam Houston State University Criminal Justice Center from March 20th to 25th, and Amarillo Criminal Defense Attorney D. Chris Hesse has been selected to attend. Often considered the best trial college in the state, the programs, courses, and demanding exercises are offered to a limited enrollment of just 80 students and legal professionals. Just one week before attending, all students will be given a simulated case file that includes reports, testimonies, and other bits of evidence to use in an upcoming mock trial. From selecting the jury to performing cross examinations and making final arguments, the trial feels and behaves like an actual criminal trial, and the students must treat it as such to hope to succeed. Esteemed members of the faculty will oversee and review the entire process, determining which attorneys stand out from the rest and have truly refined their criminal defense trial skills.
